Marketing

Legal marketing specialist

Part timeUSD 900 – 1,300 monthly

About the role

You run the marketing for a US law firm that has been getting by on referrals and wants a second source of work. There is a blog that has not been touched in a year, a Google Business Profile that quietly outperforms it, and no one whose job it is to fix either. This is a part time role of roughly twenty five hours a week, and it is a build rather than a maintenance job: you decide what gets published, you write most of it, and you report on what it produced. Legal marketing has rules other marketing does not, so accuracy and restraint matter more than volume.

Key responsibilities

Content

  • Plan and write practice area pages and articles aimed at the questions clients actually ask.
  • Edit attorney drafts into something a non lawyer will finish reading.
  • Keep a publishing calendar the firm can see and hold you to.

Local search

  • Own the Google Business Profile: posts, questions, categories and photographs.
  • Build and correct local citations, and keep the firm's details consistent everywhere.
  • Ask for reviews the way the state bar permits and respond to the ones that arrive.

Measurement

  • Report monthly on calls, form fills and where they came from.
  • Track rankings for the terms that actually convert rather than the ones that look good.

Compliance

  • Keep every claim inside the advertising rules of the state the firm practises in.
  • Route anything that reads as a guarantee or a specialisation claim past an attorney first.

Qualifications

  • At least two years of marketing for professional services, and ideally for a law firm.
  • Able to write clean English that reads like a person, not like a content mill.
  • Working knowledge of Google Business Profile, Google Analytics 4 and Google Search Console.
  • Comfortable in WordPress or a similar content system, and able to publish without a developer.
  • Aware that legal advertising is regulated, and willing to check rather than assume.
  • Self directed. Nobody at the firm will be planning your week for you.
